Introduction

Clinical virology is the study of viruses and virus-like agents, including their classification, disease-producing properties and genetics. It is often considered a part of microbiology or pathology. Viruses have conventionally been viewed in a negative milieu as agents responsible for diseases; however viruses also have certain beneficial properties that can be exploited for useful purposes such as role of virus in gene therapy.

International Journal of Clinical Virology amalgamates and publishes high-impact, multidisciplinary and diligently peer-reviewed manuscripts on ever-expanding researches and insights on clinical virology.

The manuscripts published in International Journal of Clinical Virology are committed to provide enhanced knowledge on evolutionary analysis of viruses and virological infections thereby emerging as a genesis for providing latest facts and insights to practicing virologists, pathologists, students or molecular biologists.

Reasons for Publishing

The concept and significance of viral diagnosis and inherent processes have changed in many instances along the years. The clinical virologist not only has to identify the virus that is associated with certain symptoms, but must also provide insights to clinicians to help them define its prognosis and eventually the efficacy of therapy. This necessarily entails a reappraisal of and an emphasis on the role of the clinical virologist, who has to work alongside clinicians to manage patients and their treatment.

Corresponding to these facts, International Journal of Clinical Virology initiated publishing manuscripts to create awareness about the expanding role of clinical virologist as well as to witness the innovations and escalating evolution of the viral diagnosis processes.
