Purpose

The International Journal of Clinical Virology (IJCV) operates under a Gold Open Access model, ensuring that all articles are freely accessible worldwide without subscription barriers. Article Processing Charges (APCs) are levied to cover the cost of peer review, editing, digital archiving, DOI registration, and online hosting. IJCV’s APC framework is transparent, equitable, and consistent with DOAJ, COPE, and OASPA principles.

Scope of the APC

The APC covers the full publication cycle, including:

  • Manuscript submission processing and initial screening.
  • Double-blind peer review coordination.
  • Copyediting, language polishing, and typesetting.
  • Crossref DOI assignment and metadata registration.
  • XML/HTML/PDF production for digital publication.
  • Long-term archiving via Portico and LOCKSS.
  • Website hosting and open access dissemination.

Transparency and Ethics

This APC model adheres to the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing (COPE–DOAJ–OASPA–WAME). Editorial independence is maintained, and APCs have no influence on acceptance or peer-review outcomes.

Institutional and Funding Support

IJCV supports authors funded by research organizations and accepts institutional payments through purchase orders or centralized invoicing systems. All invoices include necessary identifiers for funder compliance.

Tax and Bank Charges

  • All transaction fees, intermediary bank charges, or currency-conversion costs must be borne by the payer.
  • IJCV does not charge additional service tax or VAT for international authors.

Group Submissions and Special Issues

Discounts are available for bulk submissions (≥5 papers) from conferences, research groups, or special issue collections. In such cases, a single institutional invoice can be issued upon request.

What the APC Does Not Include

  • Extensive language editing or rewriting (available optionally).
